Fio:Futures Young Company
We have recently just launched our newly designed Autumn Programme due to commence on 4th October 2019.
Join us every Friday @ East Moors Youth Centre, Sanquhar St, Splott, Cardiff CF24 2AD.
This time, we are accommodating 2 age groups so make sure you spread the word and get involved!
We realise that whilst there may be many after-school programmes in and around Cardiff, they are not necessarily free programmes. We wanted to provide a creative outlet for young people to have as their own space without the stress of having to pay. So what do you say? Are you in?
If you or anyone you know may be interested in this year-long programme, please spread the word!
To enquire further or confirm your spot, please email email@example.com
Otherwise, feel free to pop-in at any given Friday session! We always welcome new faces!
Summer 2019 - What did Fio:Futures get up to?
Saturday 13th July 2019 saw Fio:Futures host the first ever Fio Presents: Cardiff’s Got talent and the community spirit could not have been more supportive! We had participants from ages 7-17 compete whilst we specially invited 3 judges, 2 hosts, a DJ and a sound engineer to successfully put together the event. Not only that, but we also had sponsors and donations from the likes of Cineworld Cinema, Beatboxx Hann, Imperial Cafe, Cardiff Paint Supplies and Spicebox Kitchen just to name a few. It was a small, local event with incredible support!
Then, just a week after the talent show, Fio:Futures launched a 3-week Film Summer School at East Moors which kicked off on 22nd July 2019 for 11-19 year olds! By the end of it, we had worked together to create a short film based on ideas and issues that the young people discussed a week prior to filming.
Soon enough, the young people will be invited back in for a special premiere screening!
The programme was kindly supported by Arts Council Wales, Ffilm Cymru, Cardiff County Council.
We would also like to provide major thanks to Greggs for sponsoring us during the programme.
Fio has invested in young people for the past six years in the running of our prior summer schools.
Fio:Futures was launched in Splott in 2018 at The Old Library and East Moors Youth Centre. Our aim is to re-represent the young community of Splott. We aim to give a platform to those growing up in contemporary South Wales to tell their own stories. Participants have noted increase in self-confidence, a creative outlet, the learning of new skills, no judgement, connecting and making new friends.
