Cardiff's Got Talent 2019: Judges Announced!
blog post written by judy li
We’ve announced and formally introduced our hosts Ez Rah and Tia Camilleri in our previous post (see here) but now it’s time to introduce our 3 judges! Are you ready?
Perhaps the biggest joy in preparing Fio Presents: Cardiff’s Got Talent is utilising the theatre space at East Moors Youth Centre in Splott. At Fio HQ, we saw huge potential in transforming this large, open space with huge thanks to Cardiff Council, and in particular, Paul Duffy, who kindly lent us the space!
As such, we formally announce Paul Duffy as our first judge. Paul works as a Senior Youth Officer at…have you guessed? East Moors!
As a bit of a teaser, we’ve kindly asked all of our judges to provide some facts about themselves. Paul studied Fine Art in Cardiff and the Slade School of Art and Design (we had no idea!). He also expresses that he has a broad taste in music from classical to opera to urban music. With a creative background, we have no doubts that Paul will make a great judge!
Coming from a completely different background, we have Personal Trainer Warren Manners. Warren knows what it means to train hard work which is crucial if you want to succeed in anything that you do. He has also gone as far as competing in bodybuilding competitions so understands what it means to be competitive. Warren has kindly given us 3 fun facts: He likes to do comedy and impressions, he used to play football at Leeds Academy and he loves authenticity and realness.
Filling in the final judging seat, we have none other than Suzanne Packer! Suzanne is an experienced actress and soap queen, well-known for playing Rhiannon on BBC’s ‘Keeping Faith’. She tells us that she can still do the splits (!!), that she’s sang in front of dame (and fellow Cardiffian) Shirley Bassey and that she still can’t call her teachers by their first name even though she’s in her adulthood.
So…what do you think?
With hosts and judges prepared, you can bet that the talent show will be a fun-packed night!
